About Me
I am a 26 year old artist, currently living in Colorado. While my primary work is in a 3d digital medium, I also enjoy any and every form of creative expression. I've been playing video games regularly since 1984, when we got a Commodore 64, and I've been playing RPGs since 1985 (yes, I was 5 years old). My first game was a solo campaign of D&D -- the original game, you know, when Elf was a class. I wanted to play a mage, because I thought magic was the best thing in the world... and after 5 whole minutes of playing, my character was attacked by a giant bat and killed in one hit. I cried. This was, I'm sure, a formative experience for me. But despite such setbacks, I was hooked. Since then, I've played all manner of games, from video to card, live-action RPG to backgammon, and I've loved them all. The only games I haven't enjoyed are ones that are so poorly designed as to be unplayable.
Of course, I love monkeys -- and I have many things related to them. In addition to my collection of stuffed animal monkeys and monkey figurines, I also have a monkey lamp, candles, rice bowls, masks, charms... we do love monkeys here. I also collect obscure board games and unique decks of playing cards. I do put them all to use, because I've never quite understood the point of having things that you never use.
About sistermonkey.com
sistermonkey.com was brought to life in 2005, primarily as a means of showcasing my artwork. Secondary to this is my desire to have a blog related to video games and news from the digital art world. The name is, ultimately, an homage to my childhood nickname (Monkey). To this day, my brother still calls me his sister monkey, and so it seemed a natural choice.
